Often we choose goals that we sorta want. Things that would be nice, but nothing really that inspires us. We feel like we oughtta lose weight, or save more money so we add those items to our list. And we fail, because while those things sound nice, we don’t really want to pass on the pie or change our lifestyle. That’s okay, but it’s better to accept and set a resolution for something that really does matter to you, so that you can experience the feelings of success that come with perservering until completion.
If you truly want to accomplish something, you’ve got to care about it more than you care about something else. You’ve got to feel fired up when you think about achieving this goal. This passion will help you take consistent action until you get there.
The problem isn’t that we fail to achieve our resolutions or goals. The problem is that we pick the wrong one to begin with. Pause now and think about what you’re going for.
