From the greatest hits file: Abraham-Hicks on Allowing Redux. An oldie but goodie that ran in October of 2010.
Last week the car’s battery died. They no longer cost $32.99.
I found out I needed a new $1,200 crown on tooth #30.
The diabetic cat needed lab work and I feel like money is flying out of my pocket and challenges are sprouting like weeds in the lawn. Ever had a week like that?
When clusters of challenges emerge, it’s easy to feel stressed, frustrated, angry. Then I start complaining and worrying and that creates a cycle of negative thoughts which usually drag more icky things into my life. When you fret and stress and whine, you often get more stuff to fret and stress and whine about.
This time I caught myself just in the nick of time. After a day of stewing about the crown and the expense and hassle of another hour spent in the dentist’s chair, I let it go. I decided to sit easy with it to imagine myself enjoying good music on my Ipod during the procedure. I gave thanks for our health insurance –which covers half the expense. I visualized only the best outcomes. I decided to allow and make room for good possibilities to enter.
And, here’s what happened: The dentist called me to the chair 15 minutes early. The procedure was comfortable and 15 minutes shorter than expected. The price was $70 less than the estimate and I was home and back at work an hour earlier than planned.
Life can be easy when you live in the moment and stop resisting. When you accept what is and go with the flow of the Universe you open up to the possibility of good things happening.
All too often I think we become aware of this power when we’re OUT of alignment: When we are mad because we need a crown replaced; When we feel sick or sluggish or isolated or angry. But, when you connect to the higher vibration of life even those challenging moments become an experience of wonder and curiosity and peace and joy.
Here’s how Abraham-Hicks talks about the art of allowing and what happens when we move into alignment with that higher vibration. The music is a little schmaltzy, (or you could say powerful, I suppose) but the words left me thinking.
How do you allow possibilities into your own life? How do you resist the flow of these higher energies?
